As podcasters, we’re always looking for ways to streamline the production and promotion of new podcast episodes. One way to easily save time when putting together Headliner videos to share on social media is to create and use a saved template.
How To Save a Template
Once you’ve successfully created an audiogram* for a podcast episode, you’ll simply click on the button labeled “Save As A Template” at the top-left of the editor.

Next, you’ll be asked to name your template. In this example, we’re naming the template “The Headliner Pod”. That’s it! You now have a template that you’ll be able to use to create additional promotional content for your podcast.
How To Use a Saved Template
Here comes the part about saving time—let’s use that template you saved. There are two different ways to access and apply your saved templates to a new segment of audio or video.
1. Start a New Audiogram Project
- From the main dashboard, choose Audiogram Wizard (bright blue square on the far right of the dashboard).
- Upload your clip or find your podcast by searching by name, RSS feed or Descript link.
- Select the clip of your choice and click “next”.
- Select your aspect ratio and click “next”.
- At this point, you’ll be given the option to choose your saved template and open it in the full editor where you can make any tweaks or updates before saving and exporting your new video.
2. Choose Your Saved Template and Replace the Audio Track
- From the main dashboard, look below the five main options, and you’ll see a section titled: “Templates”.
- You may see the template you’re looking for immediately, but you can also use the filters to choose to only look at your saved templates.
- Find the template you’d like to use, and it will load that project into the editor.
- Scroll down to the audio track within the editor and click the blue plus sign right at the beginning of the line.
- Once you click the plus sign, a familiar window will pop up and you’ll be able to add the new audio to your saved template. As usual, you’ll have the option to upload your clip or find your podcast by searching by name, RSS feed or Descript link.
- The audio you choose will completely replace the original audio track.
- Once you’ve selected your new audio track, make sure Transcription is turned on (top-right). This will ensure the transcript and waveform from your template is updated in addition to the new audio.
- Then you’ll click “Add to Video” and you’ll be taken back to the editor where the new audio, transcript, and waveform will have populated. You can now make any remaining tweaks or updates before saving and exporting your new video.
